Robertson said Wednesday he set aside his differences with Giuliani on issues such as abortion because he believes that fighting the war against terrorists is more urgent. I can not believe what I am reading. I am with him on fighting the war on terror is VERY important, but come on we have other issues as well. THE ABORTION issue is another war that we have been fighting for a long time. I would understand the endorsement if it came from a senator, but a religious figure backing Rudy even though he doesn't agree on ABORTION which is a key issue for Christians. Rudy has shown us time and time again for him the social issues don't matter, and Christian voters are the biggest advocates for them. To me Pat Robertson has sold out of his morals and I am very disappointed him.

In the 30-second ad, the former Massachusetts governor vows to strengthen U.S. intelligence agencies, increase the size of the military by at least 100,000 troops and to monitor calls made to the United States by suspected al-Qaida associates. This is a very intelligent move on Romney's part because a common compliant is that he really doesn't portray and foreign policy skills, so now he is having this tough on terrorism ad which will hopefully help him out! Apparently this talk-show host taped Romney's radio interview without Romney's knowledge. Romney passionately explains his commitment to his LDS faith, his pro-life position, etc... a must watch. Update: My spelling error of "scene" was unintentional - but it's also slightly clever, so I'll leave it. The interview was with Mickelson at Iowa station WHO. Keeping it Clean?

I just have to comment on a recent bit of news that Romney is planning to unleash a series of proposals that would combat pornographic pop ups on the internet. This seems like a slippery slope because it will automatically be called an impingement on free speech. Sure anyone would like to have a filter that keeps those nasty emails and pop ups away but how would that be done? Personally, I have had debates with porn lovers who can't stand the idea that porn would be restricted at all, they really freak out and start by shouting that their freedom of speech is being taken away. Even if the restrictions apply to kids and would be for parent's use. It's a little crazy. I haven't seen or heard what Romney proposes so this should be interesting when he gets around to it. He might be better off with hitting the war topic. In the meantime, Hugh Hewitt has a book on Mitt Romney and his presidential bid. I happen to like HH's other books and would think this book is worth perusing at least.

"Hillary Clinton just gave a speech the other day about her view on the economy. She said we have been an on-your-own society. She said it's time to get rid of that and replace that with shared responsibility and we're-in-it-together society," Romney told the crowd. "That's out with Adam Smith and in with Karl Marx." After calling in sick from work, I was able to catch the democratic YOU TUBE debate. All they did was criticize the Bush Administration, and the republican party as a whole (as usual). One question was directed towards Hillary asking if she could categorized herself as a liberal and her response was that she considered herself a “progressive.” By definition progressive means: progressive (pr?-gres'iv) - A person who actively favors or strives for progress toward better conditions, as in society or government. Ok, so by definition technically the republican party are progressives because we want abortions banned, we don't want Gay marriages (the new fad) and keep traditional marriages sacred, we want to progress back to a smaller government like back in the Reagan times, and the list goes on and on. All in which our party the conservative party progress’ towards better conditions of society. The liberals can’t face that their “newly” found “glorified” terms for themselves is quite contrary to their beliefs. Also how can they create better conditions for society if these democrats believe in a society that lacks competition, capitalism, and the free trade. Hasn't history shown us time and time again that their flowery cooperative society (communism, cough cough) DOESN’T WORK!! In China, a communist country, changed their market to a free market and now their economy is BOOMING, and they are catching up to the U.S. which is another issue in itself but we won’t go there. So, I have come to the conclusion that democrats are full of it, they are spewing out rhetoric that sounds terrific but we all know it doesn’t work. Lol I can’t wait until we crush them in 2008!!!

Ok so I know I am suppose to be posting stuff about Romney, but how often can you post something about yourself. So I attended the CRNC (college Republican National Convention) and there was this film crew there that looked like a news crew. They started asking the boys in my group all about the War in Iraq and a whole bunch a questions. Well I was standing there with them until I finally told them that we all had to go. Yet they kept pushing to get the answers and now I know why. Former Tennessee Sen. Fred D. Thompson, who is campaigning for president as a "pro-life" Republican, accepted a lobbying assignment from a family-planning group to persuade the first Bush White House to ease a controversial abortion restriction, according to a 1991 document and five people familiar with the matter (link). During his first run for the U.S. Senate, Fred Thompson said in an interview to a libertarian Republican newsletter that the ultimate decision to have an abortion "must be made by the woman." Seems to me that everyone is questioning the wrong man (Mitt Romney) on his Pro-Life stance, we should be questioning Fred Thompson.

The speech was structured to compare the Democrats’ vision of change to his. He declared: “"To confront unprecedented challenges, we must change. Both parties claim to be the party of change, and I think both are right. But there's a big difference in the direction their change would take us.” While explaining the Democrats vision of change is a European economic model he set out his: “I have a different answer. Let's make the Bush tax cuts permanent. Let's kill the Death Tax. And let's have a new tax rate for middle income Americans who want to save their money, who are investing in America. The tax rate on their interest, dividends and capital gains should be...exactly zero!” This is at the Young Republicans convention in Hollywood, Florida. I had the pleasure of attending the Mitt Romney dinner to see him speak. He did a wonderful job and I was very impressed. I have been a strong supporter of Mitt Romney but after this speech I am completely sold on Mitt. I know he is going to make a fantastic president. His speech conveyed not only the republican platform, but the social conservatism in which I am a firm believer in. His speech wasn't only a "speech" he spoke with passion and with the wisdom this country needs. While Fred Thompson spoke the "red meat," I talked to several Thompson supporters and they all agreed his speaking skills are just not there. One even quoted to me "He will be a great Vice for Romney." So there is no duel, Thompson is a great guy, a great conservative but not the right man for the job. Btw, Romney won the Straw poll that night!! :)
